Q: What difference can one person make?

03/31/2008

Humanitarians Henri Landwirth and Nick Anderson will facilitate Cultures and Conflict, a difficult, but moving panel discussing the connection between genocide and the theme of "Protecting Our Future." Jessica Rimington of One World Youth Project will facilitate this discussion, during which the two panelists will share their very unique relationships with conflict, specifically the Holocaust and the genocide in the Darfur region of the Sudan. Panelists will discuss actions youth may take during conflicts of unthinkable severity.

Nick Anderson provides an amazing example of taking action to address an issue. After using the social networking sites Myspace and Facebook to propel his Dollars for Darfur campaign, he served as a youth ambassador to the Sudan for OxfamAmerica, an experience which he will share with participants.

Henri Landwirth has survived the Holocaust, made lasting friendships with both astronauts and world-famous humanitarians and started numerous projects to improve the quality of life of others. During the panel he will share his nightmarish experience of the Holocaust and how he learned to forgive.

It will be almost impossible to not be inspired by their stories.
